As a child I was unaware that art would become such a passion. As I look back I can see in my behavior a need to be creative in all things. I am primarily self-taught and in some ways that has been difficult, but I think it has built a strength in me and also perhaps made my artistic journey a very personal one which has influenced my style. I continue to experiment with new techniques and media. I have exhibited, taught, and judged competions across the U.S. and Canada, have received many first place and Best of Show awards over the years, have been honored to be the featured artist at shows in several states and Canada, artist-in-residence for 4 years, and also one of the artists at John Campbell Folk School in N.C. I have exhibited at the Wild Wings Fall Festival, have written articles for magazines, and been featured in both magazine and newspaper articles.
