Just another day...
I am terrible at titles. I don't have one for today. It's "just a day"- of gift wrapping, piano lessons, (I teach them), laundry, and then to the studio to paint, work on my drawing commission, whatever. I just thought I'd drop in and post another piece of my artwork. I haven't quite figured out how this blog thing will work- whether it is worth my time here or not. Does anyone see this? How do they find "me" (and why would they be looking?!) among all these other odd blogs that have nothing to do with art, nature, etc. So...
Anyway, here's another piece of mine. I thought you might like to see one of my drawings I am doing for a commission for a "bird" atlas! They have decided to add other little (and some not so little) creatures to go with the birds as you can see and this fellow is one of my favorites. He's an American Toad, now that he's done I love him, but doing all those little bumps drove me crazy!!! I see he's pretty small. If you'd like to see him please go to my website:

Another new beginning...

Once again I will try this "blog thing". I started one and after the first post I could never get in again to post. So here we go again...
This is a "new" thing for me... we'll see how it goes. I've never been good with a journal, so hope I do better with this. (I smile as I write this.) I have always loved animals, so they seem to be a natural for me to paint. The older I get the more passionate I am about my art. It is no longer something I love to do, it is also something I HAVE to do. It is ME... I hope you enjoy my posts, my art, and will perhaps come away with a greater peace or a greater love for nature. My art is created for the love of nature and the wish to pass that on to others.I'll start with this fellow. He is a barred owl I "met" while at a show benefitting a wildlife rescue center. He had been hit by a semi and permanently injured. I sold this piece and donated a small portion to the center. I wish it could have been more as I feel so strongly about things like that. I do intend to try and continue to help with this sort of thing in the future as well. But I am one of those famous "starving" artists... (smile again). I hope you enjoy him. The title of the piece is "Evening Reflections".Carol
